Hi I have a Victoria PLum tree that is very sick. The leaves are dying back, they are a slivery green and have stunted growth. There are two photos to show the current situation. Some branches on the NW side have died completely.
Also the north face of the bark has this brown/copper type lychen on the bark.

I believe you can get the infection if you prune at the wrong time.

Yes you can, if you prune a plum tree in late autumn the 'spores' (wrong word)can get into the cut tissue.

It is a fungus so 'spore' is the correct name for the way the infection (definitely the wrong word) is moved from one place to another.
