Amaranthus seedlings

evening all,
was wondering if anybody has grown or growing Amaranthus 'pony tails'.
i sown in GH 11/4/11
germinated 16/4/11
potted on 96 plants and many more still in tray from 27/4/11
so its been 2 weeks and they seem to be going really slow. Do they get a sudden growth spurt?

I've grown them in the past and decided to do 4 seeds per 3" pot so they were well on before I planted them out.

Previous question
I used to grow the red form every year, and they do seem to stall when you pot them on. Very soon they will get a spurt on. Six feet tall was my best effort in 2003 or 2004!
