Which phlox - there are several types.

Being a novice, Ido not know I bought this in a garden centre, it just said phlox, it is abouot six inches tall with a head of flowers which smell beautifully. Thank you for your coments .

And what size of container

quite a large square container 16 x 12 inches deep

I have one in a similar sized container that I meant to put in the garden but its getting so big and doing so well that I am tempted to leave it this year. So my answer would be yes. And of course it will need lots of watering in the summer otherwise it will suffer very quickly as tubs dry out so fast.

Yes should be fine.

I grow a scented light blue one in two pots and they are spectacular. I keep them in pots because they are the kind that spread. it was one plant but last year I split it into 2 and they are rapidly filling their new pots!
I potted up the bits that came off when I divided the plant and they are taking off as well!
