I've just inherited a 12' x 8' aluminium greenhouse and want to replace the roof panels with polycarbonate. I've been quoted £75 for 10mm thick - does anyone know if this is too thick? All of the ones you see advertised use 4mm or less!

The polycarbonate panels come in 4, 6 and 10 mm widths. The larger the width the more insulated it is in winter, though the difference is small. It will not make a difference to growing plants in it.
