Looks like a parsnip!!!!!

Lol.... there are quite a lot of these trying to grow near my aubrieta ... good for vegetarians ;o)

i was thinking along the lines of a buttercup. if its a parsnip then I'd go with one of the wild ones.

could it be one of the meconopsis type poppies?

I think a GoY member sent me some poppy seeds ... which I scattered around ... maybe 2009 ...

Could the seeds have remained 2 years in the soil and then benefited from the freezing winter ?

Could be Mecanopsis cambrica which is a lovely invasive poppy.

thats what i was thinking of mg,
and tt if you have recently disturbed the soil this would account for it growing now.

I'll let you know on this question thread whether they grow into poppies or parsnips ... Lol.
