nerines

Asked on 8 Oct, 2008

Have 3 pots containing nerines The bulbs were given to me approx 8 years ago .I followed advise re planting and have left the bulbs undisturbed but flowering is scant--two to three flowers per container. Have even moved the position of the containers to catch the morning./afternoon sun but no increase in flower heads. Any advice would be much appreciated.
PS Bulbs are crowded and protruding above soil

Hi. I have some but no flowers. This year especially has not suited them They like it hot with a long dry period. I hope someone else can give good advice for me as well.

Make sure you plant them in a hot sunny spot preferably at the base of a wall, the ones in pots would be better now planted out but do not divide if you want flowers next year.

I planted three but only one has flowered. But I passed the garden of a bungalow today which was full of them - all in flower but there was very little else there. I recently bought a red one at a car boot sale but was told it wasn't hardy like the pink ones and should go indoors in winter.
