if the tips on leaves are brown does that mean there is aproblem with the plant

I lived in an area where the water was from artesian wells in the limestone bedrock...the water was extremely hard...and it also had natural fluoride. my cordyline, dracaena marginata and chlorophytum all had firing of the tips... I used to save rainwater or melt snow to water them and they fared much better...so I would say the problem is not with your plant but with the water... hth.
