Thanks both! I have same problem you had Derek, I have lots of large borders that need filling! Last year I bought bedding plants but it cost me a fortune as I had to buy so many. I have planted lots of small shrubs....but it will be a few years until they fill out my borders. So I'll give the shake and rake a go and hopefully fill in the gaps.

I "shaked and raked" yesterday! (Or should that be "shook and rook"?) I'm hoping for a good fill up in a pink flowerbed.
