I agree. It is usually best to wait until the grass is growing strongly. However,having said that my next door neighbour is a green keeper and he applied a feed 3 weeks ago and his lawn is perfection!

I expect he was using a specialist product, Anchorman, not available to ordinary gardeners.

Could well be. His lawn is the best I've seen.

April, although in mild conditions in the south or west, can be risked late March.
