Capillary matting.I am starting a quantity of flowers and veg from seed this season. With capillary matting is it adequate and also can I supply water to the matting by 2inch wide cotton ribbons. This system ,if it works ,will save time with no watering. Has anybody tried it???????

I would be cautious about using capillary matting for seeds and seedlings, Ian. This is likely to keep the compost in the pots rather too wet for the developing plants. It will be fine once they are growing well.
