I have a 1200 gallon pond in my back yard with Koi and Goldfish in it. Today, in the stream, I found small hard shell bugs. They are black and about 1/8 of an inch. they are all over the stream area of the pond. Any idea what they can be, and if they are harmful to my pond?

I expect they are water Beetles, They eat Smaller pond creatures like Daphnia, and probably would eat very young fish. There are some much larger Water Beetles that are Fish Killers
