I have a minature white cyclamen in a pot on my windowsill and I have just noticed that one of the flowers has sprouted leaves in amongst the petals. Is this normal? It looks like a new plant has started to grow in the flower.

Yes, it's normal, well, more accurately, not unusual. Lots of plants do it on occasion. Flowers are only adaptations of leaves, and that's evidence of it. We can all revert to type when conditions dictate! Worthy
