Bamboo plants

I would like to put a couple of bamboo plants in the back of a couple of borders to fill a couple of gaps-as I think I have read that bamboo can be very intrusive do you think it would be ok for the plants to stay in large pots. Do they prefer s sunny spot and/or sheltered?
Any help woulld be appreciated
Thanks
Pat

I believe the black bamboo is less intrusive, slower spreading. Here it is also more expensive, though I believe thompson and morgan have a special offer at the moment.

Be very wary of all Bamboos they are devils to get rid of and can be so invasive. Put them in big pots and then in your border for a few years, rejuvenate them when they start to suffer.
