evening primrose

Can someone tell me if evening primrose is an annual and if not do I need to cut it right back ?

Sorry to be difficult, Gwenda, but there re annual, biennials and perennials. Which one have you got - colour and size-wise? There are some photos at the bottom of the page that might help, :-)

Hi spritz. Its much taller than Mikecs plants and blooms like Majeekahead. It has bloomed profusely and obviously loves where it is planted but looking a bit raggy now and brown leaves at bottom of stems. Probably too much rain!

it's possibly Oenothera biennis which is, as the name suggests, a biennial. If you leave it, it should seed itself. Without a photo I can't be certain, but that's what it sounds like!
