I've found another one

bernard

By Bernard

Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Gb

Again my gardening books are no good, they seem to concentrate on the flowers and don't give much detail about the leaves. Judging by my past experience, I'm sure someone will be abl to identify it.

Hi Bernard looks to me like bay laurel which has a spreading habit if left but often trained into standards which then shaped and clipped. Should bear yellowish white flower spikes which aromatic.Laurus noblis is the latin name I think.

How large is the plant Bernard and what size the leaves?
Could it be a pieris?

It might be Prunus laurocerasus Otto Luyken, A good ground cover shrub.
