I wouldn't put any bonemeal in the mix as it may scorch the roots. Use compost/vermiculite about 4:1 if you want to. I'd use a proper pot too as the roots will enjoy the darkness! Also, only go up to the next pot size as plants don't like to sit in a large pot of wet, cold compost throught the winter. Better for them to use all the space in the pot. It looks a healthy plant, though. Well done!

Steve - I had to google this as it rang a bell, but I couldn't recall. You lucky........

Anyway, this link may be useful with regards to cuttings. The impression that I got from it was the younger shoots were far better, but read the whole thing and make your mind up.

I've had success growing these from seeds this year that my own plants set. I currently have about 30 seedlings. These were started in peat pellets, transferred to peat pots and then directly into plastic nursery pots so I've never had to remove them from a pot so far. These seem to be very happy with ordinary premium potting mix kept evenly moist not soggy with regular soil as well as leaf feeding. The tallest of my 7 month old plants are now knee high. Be careful when removing from the cups not to disturb the roots. As far as rooting cuttings (which I haven't done yet) I would wait for some good side branching.

Good Luck
