Nerine bowdenii is the hardy one. They should be planted about now, near the surface of the soil. if the soil is too rich, you'll get leaves and few flowers, as in the wild, they grow in poor soil. They do need to be in a sunny and warm position - against a south facing wall is ideal, in soil with added grit. If you're planting them for the first time, mulch them this year.
