Hard to be sure of the exact cultivar, but it's one of the Cryptomeria japonica Elegans group, So could well be the one usually labeled as 'Elegans' which is a mid green, or possibly 'Aurea' which is more of a yellowy green by comparison. They are the two most commonly found in Garden Centres and Nurseries.

It can be pruned either selectively ie. taking out sections of branch that extend to far, or by light trimming with a pair of secateurs. Like the majority of conifers they don't respond too well to a heavy prune into heavy wood though Cryptomeria's like their Redwood relatives do have some ability to sprout better than most.
