Hi Jocinta - welcome to GoY. Obviously, as I live in the UK I can't tell you the answer personally, but there is another gardener on the site who lives in Portugal - he may be able to help - however, I don't know how close your regions are! Search for 'Algardener' in the box top left, then send him a private message. I am sure he will help if he can. Good luck!

I've had the same problem here in France Jocinta but here I may have a solution - make your own!!

This is an Australian site but there are many more out there. Try Googling 'making seed compost'
Good luck

But now Jocinta has to find an Australian Standards approved dust mask, in Portugal!

Seriously, Portugese people must grow stuff from seed. Perhaps the question should not be 'what's your equivalent to seed compost?' but 'how do you go about growing from seed?'.

Maybe a Portugese book from your local bookshop's gardening section would help.
