Question about the site! Why do I have to log in every so often? My last question came up asbeing a "guest".

Isn't that normal with websites like this? I log in every day and stay logged in while I have the computer on. Log out before switching it off, and repeat next day. I imagine that if you don't log out before turning the computer off, eventually your session would "time out" and you'd have to log in again.

I don't log out at all, just occasionally ( sometimes If i have to reboot) I have to login again

I never logout either and have GOY as one of my homepages.
No Beattie, you don't get 'timed-out', that doesn't happen, you just stay logged in.

That's interesting as last week, on 3 ocassions I had to Log-In with user name and password, normally I just access growsonYou with no problem.

That happens if I turn the PC off, rather than leaving it on 'stand-by'.

This happens to me also, I have GOY set as my homepage and my computer can be switched on during the day and I can visit the site as and when but then for no reason at all it wants me to re-log in. Even though I have ticked the remember me box. I wondered if it was a security thing, or that I was just not doing something correctly, not much of a problem though. Just a nuisance.

I never log out of the site, just exit it when I shut the computer down, and most of the time, I don't have to log in. I access the site through the last email notification I've been sent, so that might account for it, I don't know. But occasionally, for some unknown reason, I find I need to log in - but that hasn't happened for at least 6 months. And its not related to whether I leave the computer on hibernate or close it down properly - I still don't have to log in even when I close it down.

You need not logout every time you leave the site unless someone else is using your computer and you do not want him/her to know. Just exit. Make sure that you tick the " remember me" in your profile, so your computer will remember your username and password. When you logout you will certainly need to re enter your username and password and this the purpose of having the password.

Thanks for all your answers. I thought it was just me!

When your computer updates itself it sometimes clears out all the passwords that it has been asked to remember you can also do this manually by going into tools internet options browsing history and altering the settings. Also the other reason it does this is because the browsers default settings are set to delete history every 20 days this can also be altered by tools internet options.

Looks like I'm the only one who deliberately logs out and in though. Interesting.
