Yes, they are, Newcomer. Leave the pods on the plants if you can, until they are brown. Then store in a (preferably) brown paper bag, for sowing next Spring. Also, leave this year's plants in the ground until they are totally withered, then chop up and dig into the soil with a spade. Peas, whether it be the vegetables or the ornamental types, add nitrogen to the garden soil, and are beneficial. Good Luck!
