I have received a potted mimosa and the only instructions are "to grow in a large pot".
Should I transfer it immediately into a much larger pot or just re pot as necessary as it grows?

Repot as it grows - choose a pot 2 or 3 sizes larger than the current root ball, including underneath it. You may need to pot it on again this year though.
