What can I plant inside an 80' wide by 5.' high west facing wall for form a hedge.
It forms the front of a small block of flats - we have had red robin photinia for about 10 years but they have mostly died off and we have many gaps. Tjhe ground is not very good.

Most likely they've died off because of drought, so unless you can ensure that, during dry conditions, the plants will occasionally be watered, and in particular, kept well watered for the first year or two during dry spells, you'll end up with the same problem.
