Is anyone going to the AGS Show in Caerleon on Saturday 13th. I am coming down on 12th and hope to get along to it. For Scottish members Dunblane early Bulb day with three excellent speakers is on Saturday 20th in Dunblane. Opposite the Railway Station.

Not Bulba and I, too far to travel and I've got two SRGC meetings in Stirling on Saturday

Sadly for the first time since the Caerleon show began, we will not be going either. My toe is too painful to risk driving all the way down through Wales to this show. And the weather forecast is not so good either. Pity, it is a fine show and we usually go to The Weir Garden to look at the Snowdrops on the way home.
Enjoy it and take lots of photos of the exhibits too.

I can understand it is that the distance and prior commitments will keep you and Bulba away MG. You will be doing a lot of travelling since you have to come down on the 20th too. I hope the weather does not scupper your planned travel.
Sorry to hear you are having toe trouble Owdboggy. I hope it is not a permanent problem and that you are able to get out and enjoy any decent weather we might get. We have had two good days during daylight hours then rain in the early evening with frosts by morning. I am hoping The weather is decent tomorrow. Having seen photos of previous shows I felt it would be silly of me to miss the only opportunity I am likely to get of going to see it for myself. I will need to leave my purse at home because I am struggling to look after what I already have in the garden. It is too easy to let my eyes over rule my brain. There is always that must have plant. Taking photos should keep me out of the way of temptation. I will see what I can do.

Np no coming down for Early Bulbs we said last year that if the two were only a week spat we would not attend due to all the commuting!

That is a shame MG as they have managed to get a hybridiser of reticulate iris to do one of the talks. Apparently he has some superb hybrids which are being treated with some awe. There are three speakers as per and I am so sorry that I will miss it as I will be attending a ballet show in Bath. Grandparents cannot miss their little ones doing their thing. It only happens every two years so at least I will be able to go to Dunblane next year. We will maybe see you at Kincardine on the 19th of March.

sadly I wont be going this either and i have been the last 3 years and add in a trip to see eldest daughter. she lived in Caerleon on campus there and now lives in Frome. but this weekend she is here with us in east yorks. Bad timing that's what I say!

I have always bought lots of plants when I have been down. so you'll enjoy it Scotsgran. I'm so jealous.

hope the foot improves Owdboggy.

Nope we never go to Kincardine and won't be going to Edinburgh either now Carole has moved to South West of Scotland. Only 3 Shows for us this year, our own, Aberdeen and Perth.

I might see you in Perth then Mg. I remember your daughter graduating Sbg.I had a hard time not buying plants but I had to have one. Photo when I get home. Bjs will probably do a blog on the show before I am home. If I have anything markedly different to his I might post them.

Would have been nice to meet another Goyer Rosierose , maybe next time. If I remember I will put up a note to say it is on next year or you could look up events in the AGS website.
I had a brilliant day today at Frome Potato Day with my Grandchildren. They were able to plant seeds and make seed bombs. I had a £25 gift voucher from Pennard Plants so the kids got lots of advice from the staff there and came away with seeds for peas, beans, squash and tomatoes. They also got onion sets and potatoes to plant. They have too much for their allotment but they can grow some in pots and keep some seeds for following years. The onions they will take in to school to share with their classmates.
