Our 6 yearold Catalpha tree(graft) has been wonderful until three days ago when half the leaves got limp and the existing flowers died- we got a tree surgeon who said it was probably because lawnfeed/weedkiller was killing it off due to no rain and a chalky soil- please please help- it is the focus of our garden and spreads over the patio- thanks Joy Siggers

If the tree surgeon's right (and presumably you have, indeed, put a treatment on the lawn) then there's nothing you can do other than water copiously in hopes of washing any residual chemicals away.
