I have beetroot which exhibit spherical holes in the root as if something has eaten it - Help !!

About the only thing which eats its way into beetroot is the dreaded cutworm of one species or another. Very hard to treat. Best method is to rake over the soil on a regular basis over winter so the birds can eat them for you. This breaks the cycle.
