i have goy a red like spider plant in my garden sorry i dont know the name of plant but it is quite common the centre of the plant as seemed to stop growing and it as like maggots in the centre the leaves look dry and brittle but a baby plant as started growing at the base this looks very healthy please can you help

I think I would cut the dead dying bit off and let the new growth take over.

Sounds like it could be a dark red cordyline, a great deal more tender than the usual type.
