Big bubbles or small bubbles ?

I will need to insulate my 10 x 8 greenhouse soon....what bubble wrap would you use, small bubbles or the bigger ones ?....or something totally different ?

it doesn't matter if your asking about wrapping up a plant . it just mite be easier with the small bubbles .

Sorry noseypotter.....need to insulate my greenhouse, not a single plant. The clue was """"I will need to insulate my 10 x 8 greenhouse soon"""

lol

Don't think it matters, both sorts do the job equally as well. The smaller bubble stuff is possibly a bit easier to bend round corners though.

still the same answer. sarcasm nice touch no need though

I don't insulate, just have a heater set to 50'f.

What was the answer, noseyporter. I wasn't asking about wrapping a plant up as i don't have any to wrap up. Sarcasm had "lol" at the end. If you think that was sarcastic, keep going. LOL

Peace, my children! I used to insulate my greenhouse with small bubbles, because that's what the shop was selling. It seemes to work OK and I agree the small bubble one wold be easier to manipulate round the corners.

I have heard this argument before we tested the difference. Large bubble bubble wrap technically gives better insulation due to the larger surface area to trap in heat. The difference is marginal if you actually measure it.

Snoopdog, i apologise unreservedly for upsetting you so much as indeed i do to Noseypotter if he/she has taken offense. I put "LOL" by each of my posts, which indicates it as a light hearted, "Laugh Out Loud" comment.

I won't ask any more questions.

What grief did badfish cause?
Seems to me it was another wrong nosey reply caused the problem between the two.

However, seems a bit strange insulating a greenhouse if there is nothing in it.

Like I said, I just use a heater set to 50'f and I have over 200 onion plants at various stages of growth at present growing away nicely no problems.
Bubble wrap would be impossible to fit in mine anyway because of all the staging. And on a warmish day, it would get too hot for my needs as I don't want it to go over 50'f.

Confusion Nosey - there are two S 's now. which of us is your old mate?

I think part of the problem with people getting upset is that you can't hear the tone of voice a reply is written in or see the smile that is often meant to go with the comment. New Year's Resolution : Lets be more tolerant!

Off to shoot slugs now.

ow its not you sg I like you . make sure you an reach the trigger with the barrels in the right place wont you scrumpy . cant let that pest get away . ow and don't stand in front of your sweet peas .

Getting back to the question... There's probably a scientific/ mathematical basis for choosing one over the other which is related to the volume of air trapped in each bubble. It's like double glazed windows - the gap between the surfaces has to be the right size (small enough) to stop air flow but large enough to stop conduction of heat from one pane to the other.
Or there's just the economics of which bubblewrap you can get easily/cheaply enough.

Good old nosey still claiming the innocent victim routine.
Can see through him a mile off. I mean he is so opposed to destroying nature, yet he kills off his won bamboo.

Still, you all like him so he must be OK.
