Remove cordyline austrailis leaves?

Leaves growing at the very bottom of trunk do i remove them

Yes when they turn manky and strip off easily.

I have masses of Cordylines in my garden and a few start having new leaves at the bottom. I am going to leave them, as I like the plant to spread. These Cordylines can grow enormously tall, I had some in the garden to 4 meters, some I cut off and soon after they made new shoots there. You can see them in my picture collection too, I purposely took a pic of them to show one of our members here.
