can anyone recommend a white gooseberry which will grow in a large tub but does not have too many thorns?

There's a pink variety called Captivator (http://www.beardsworths.co.uk/best-gooseberry-varieties/) - no indication as to whether it is suitable for growing in a pot. I would have thought gooseberry bushes were generally too big for pots.
