Solanum pruning
Solanum pruning
Asked on 20 Jul, 2008
Can anyone explain to me how to prune a purple solanum "tree", large shrub? It is quite overgrown, blossoms on most branches. Will they come back this year, or is season ending? Also we have a white solanum climber and would like to hear how to best prune that. Thank you.

Solanums flower in the second half of the year so should be pruned in early spring. If you prune heavily now, you will not get any flowers this year. I have a white solanum and cut it back by three quarters each spring
