I have this shrub I bought 4 years ago i cut it back in winter but it seems to grow mad .Does anyone know what it is and how to care for it ?

Penstemon 'Evelyn' I think. Cut back in Spring to new growth at the bottom of the plant.

ive checked it out on line but says it only grows to 45cm wide GEE! mines about a metre wide

You can take cuttings from Penstemons about now, as they are short-lived plants.

It's a Penstemon. Cut it back hard in the spring.
