Hosta planting
What time of the year do I dig up, split and replant hostas?
Answers
I always think the best time to dig up any plant is in winter or when finished flowering. Chances are the roots don't dry out so quickly. But in the right climatic conditions they probably thrive anyway. I think they are very hardy. I had a low variety and they looked dry and deadish after flowering. I cut off the dead stems and in spring they came out in full force again.

It is better to divide hosta in spring, however, you may do this anytime. Just water well. Good luck..
