Clematis problems

Asked on 18 Jul, 2008

My beautiful clematis plants have succumbed to what looks like black spots on their leaves, and more than the usual amount of die back at the bottom. Any ideas on what I can do to save them??

I would soak them with a systemic fungicide. If you do not want to use chemicals then you are down to using 1 part full cream milk to 9 parts water as a spray, but it is not that effective against Black spot. Bad year for fungus this one, cool and damp they love.
