I have 2 standard red robin plants in pots that are losing their leaves rapidly. Both plants are regularly watered and fed and were newly planted in the autumn and protected during the winter. the leaves look a bit curly

I'm wondering if there is something nasty--- like vine weevil-- in the compost?
as you say its fed, watered and protected its roots are just another place that could have trouble

Hi Liz. Red robin usually wants to make a very large shrub. so maybe a larger pot and new soil round the sides and under. If they are unglazed clay they can dry out fast. If you put new soil in add some water retaining crystals as you go. You might just rescue them if you do it ASAP.
