How many people on here have a pond? There is a champaign for a million ponds, as ponds are declining. I was just wondering how many people on here have a pond big or small.

I also have a pond, and it is well worth the work it involves. The Koi and the goldfish are thriving and to sit gazing at the fish is a nice break from the harder gardening work.

Elles- you have frogs, toads and fish??? How do they co-exsist? I cant wait to have something anything in my pond. I find water so soothing especially after a long hard day like today. Thank God its friday!!

Oh yes. They all live happily together, although I think the fish eat most of the tadpoles. This year though the clever toad put her spawn in the top of a planting basket which was just below water level. This prevented the fish from getting at them.
We have 11 fish now in our small (4ftx6ft) pond and all but 3 were actually born in the pond. Mr Heron has taken most of our original fish stock.

Wow this is very interesting Elless. Your frogs are very clever!!

To all you lovely people I need your help. I have an old tin bath sunken into the garden. Sorry DRC & SBG I know you've heard all this before. It is
45.5 inches long; 19 inches wide; 14 inches deep. I did a blog about my wildlife area if anyone wants to see the pond! I have been looking at plants Do you think I can have:-
1 corkscrew rush
1 March marigold
1 pink flowering rush
1 pygmaea Rubra lily
1 Frog bit
1 water milfoil
1 Willow moss
in my pond which is totally for wildlife, no fish. Or is it all too much? Has anyone got any of these plants to share? Thank you for answering
Pauline
