Severe bramble problem growing through hedge. we have now cut down hedge to 2 ft in order to get to root of bramble. What can i kill the bramble with without destroying the hedge.

Unless you are able to isolate the bramble from the hedge plants, you will, sadly, have to - 1. Live with it and cut the shoots down as soon as they appear. 2. Dig out the hedge and clean the ground by digging every root out then start again with a new hedge. Should it be possible to isolate the bramble you could try a systemic brushwood killer, but don't spray it or the surrounding plants will die too. If you look at a blog I did last autumn and up-dated on 18th May you will see that we had the same problem - and ended up removing the hedge and installing a fence instead (and a new border). I love it now, where I was in despair over the bramble-ridden hedge!
