aeonium
aeonium

I have an aeonium Swarzkopf (well, it has purple leaves anyway). I was given it and as a single rosette just rooted into the soil, and it is now a single rosette on a stem 10" high. When will it branch? I love the alien look of these plants when they are multi-branched shrubs. Is there anything I should do to encourage mine to make side shoots?

I don't think it will branch without some help.I had one that just got taller and taller so I chopped the top off and then it made several branches. I also cut the stem up and planted sections and got several plants. Apparently some people plant several in a pot so it looks multi-stemmed. You can also plant the top part you cut off. Good luck!
