You rubbed your eyes after touching plant sap? Even the most innocent of plants can have nasty effects like this.
Very unpleasant though.

Hi Great....Hay fever this year seems to be especially bad. Spring flowers have been late blooming and also trees and crops are producing pollen too. When I was a child I suffered with it and had to have injections of Depramedrone. The tissues around the eyes are extra sensitive and form a type of skin to protect them. More than likely it is a tree pollen you've developed an allergy to....and you may find in a couple of weeks you feel much better. I used to use an eye wash with cool milk, this helped a lot.

Have a teaspoon of honey every day but it has to be honey from local bees. If it is hayfever the body can build up an immunity from the local pollen. I know people this has worked for.

Tasty medicine Janey.
Great, I've just read about your bee-sting. Are you having a bad day? Hope you're not too sore.

If you have a local beekeeper then buy a jar of honey from them they are usually about £3 a jar.
Or antihistimine tablets 2 to 3 times a day depending how bad you are

Yes seabird it was a bad day. Took my daughter to the hospital , she had a tumour in her ear when she was 6 and lost her hearing in one ear. So she has to go every 6 months for a 'deep clean' which hurts her; like having your ears syringed only worseI!! I put her to bed and sat in the garden to have a few moments to myself. At the hospital my eyes became very sore and when I went to the chemist to get her medication I got some eye drops for myself. When i sat in the garden I got stung by a bee. - Sorry don't know where all that came from I'm sure you all dont want to know all that. Anyway thank you for all your very useful advice. No bee keepers around here in London that I know of. Seems to make sense though i.e. honey, pollen and all that. Don't like taking tablets, but maybe I'll try the eye bath. I wonder why milk helps ah just thought its alkaline. thanks again all
