clematis (multi blue)

there seem to be ants or something similar gathering around the flower head. any suggestionson what to do ?

Usually the reason that ants gather at the flower head or at the bud is aphids!! they secrete a substance that the ants find irresistible spray the aphids with soapy water or lightly squash them between your fingers.
