I have two dwarf fruit trees that I bought and planted in pots a year ago. They are doing well, but the terracotta pots they are in are covered in green. How should I clean them?

Give them a good scrub with a bucket of warm water with washing up liquid or similar in it. I find the green scouring clothes work very well.

Thank you very much. Will try it tomorrow! (If it's not pouring with rain!).

Nope should have been cloths… mind you I do wear particularly old and tatty clothes in the garden :-)

I find that a 5% solution of bleach helps to remove this algae and it seems to inhibit the growth for longer, so less frequent cleaning.

Thanks, Myron. I may try that.
