Hmm, I wonder what the original question was...

2 May, 2010

perhaps the question was badly phrased.

Or was it the rhubarb compost question. which was answered correctly. By at least one graduate botanist so that should qualify as an expert! but as is usual here we wandered off the beaten track to talk of crumble/sponge etc.

Sorry if this upset you guest but this is a site for discussing the pleasure of our plants with helpful hints and tips thrown in.

Well you pay your money and you take your choice, guest - or actually, not, since no money changes hands. So so far, there's a botanist and a professional in amenity horticulture who've responded here, but hey, you have every right to go elsewhere.

As far as I'm concerned this site is the best! I don't have the knowledge of Bamboo or Seaburngirl, who always try their best to answer everyones questions however vague. If an element of humour pops in now and again, as long as it's not offensive, what the heck!

Dear Guest you have obviously taken offence at something which has been said in answer to a question you placed on the site. If you want to comment on answers given by members you need to use the 'answer this question' box so that others can see the original question and answer that differently if they feel the information you have been given differs from what they would have advised. Or they may confirm that the answer given is correct in their opinion. It is unfortunate that you are not seeing the best of the site because you are not familiar with the protocol to be followed. Can you add your original question to this session to see if someone can help you. Thank you

Oh dear - that 'is' a shame. Why not join us and take part in a dialogue about your question? We do try to be helpful in our replies, but yes, we do ramble off the point sometimes.

Is it me or did that statement from guest sound rude. I would suggest trying phrase statements carefully. Also, if you don't want anyone else to answer, just delete the question. Simple.

I suspect, folks, that we probably used this Guest's question (whatever it was) as a place to chat to one another - it can be pretty annoying if you've asked a question and every time you get an "answer" it's actually members on here having a chat - though as long as the question was sensibly phrased, and gave enough info, it probably did get answered - its just that often, people don't like the answer they do get, even if its entirely accurate. Human nature.

There is just no pleasing some people

3 May, 2010

Well, as I said, it can be very annoying.

This looks as if it could have been a cut n paste mishap, but who knows. I'll need no encouragement to chat to anyone randomly about crumble any day of the week, professional or amateur.

I'm not a professional botanist, but maybe qualify as professional crumbler on a good day. Dear Guest, are you still reading this?

Do come back, pretty please. Try your question again? We're only human.

eventhough it may be annoying, the way it was worded was still rude, and he / she could have said it nicer.

One thing I cannot tolerate is down right RUDENESS!

well yes.
However, cake can be a great healer.

Now there must speak a woman, Weeding - personally, I find its not only cake, chocolate helps too...

How do I say thanks?
