Solanum Crispum Glasnevin

This plant is about three years old but I need to move it. When is the best time of year and should I cut it down when moved?

Move it in the late autumn when it's dormant. I believe that Solanums respond well to pruning - back to 4 buds from the main stem is the recommendation.
