Fig tree problem
Asked on 25 Jun, 2008
I have a young, potted, Fig tree, which has really come to life this season. With abundant leaf growth. Recently though some leaves have started to wilt and turn yellow. There are what appear to be bite marks on some and a sticky black residue that has spread through the leaf. Any ideas of the cause?

I would wipe the black residue off with a damp cloth/tissue etc. Could be caused by aphids/caterpillas leavin poo etc.
As to whats eating it ?
I would just keep an eye on it. If it's growing strong and healthy at the top of the plant I would be inclined to maybe to repot it change the compost and keep a look out.
