I have 3 cordlines in my garden that I tied up and covered this winter but the leaves are now brown and dead looking. Does this always happen in winter and do I now have to cut the dead leaves off and wait for new to grow ?

cut off the dead leaves and see what happens alot of cordilines have died this year due to the harsh winter but as you covered them they may be ok
