A white ball shaped growth on the bottom part of the bush about the size of a medium fist
My question is what is it?

If you wait for the fruit to open you may find some seeds in it. They can be sown and grown on into a new plant.

It's the fruit - they do that sometimes. nothing to worry about. Don't eat it though! LOL.
