I have a camellia which is about 20yrs old it is in a small wall garden which is being knocked down when is it best to move it and how as there is not much room around it to dig it out.

I'd wait until after it has flowered - would be better still to wait until autumn but you probably don't have that much time. Remember it will have a large rootball.

How close to the wall is the camellia? And what is wall made of?

It is a brick wall. The space that the camellia is in is around 6 inch wide and about 4ft long. The camellia is very close to 1 end of the wall.

Then all you can do is remove it very carefully.
