why have my clematis that has a pale pink with darker pink stripe lost its colour the higher up the plant it goes , why do the leaves look pale . and what is happening when a mildew appears on the stalks.

If this is Nelly Moser - large flowers - she doesn't like the sun and fades in it. She is better in some shade where she keeps her colour. I reckon she needs a feed, and a spray against the mildew. Clematis are greedy feeders and need to be fed frequently.
