after hard winter my cordylines leaves have all died, plants are4yrs old .can they be revived or are they dead

You can try cutting them down by half and see if they shoot from the base, but if you're pretty sure they're totally dead, might be best to start again. If yours are the red leaved kind, both Tesco and Wilkinson are selling these currently at £3 each.
