TIME TO VISIT, NOT BEEN BEFORE, THANKS

My two youngest girls took me to Kew for my 60th birthday, we went in October on the actual day, the trees were absolutely stunning, colour to die for. That was nearly 10 years ago we had an amazing day, tiring but fantastic, pictures and memories all held tight. What a lovely day we had. Make sure you give yourself all day, there is that much to see. I think any season at Kew would be special but to go on my birthday and being made to wear my 60th birthday badge all day was so much fun. What a giggle we had. Hope you enjoy yourself as much as I did.

To be honest, im a frequent visitor to kew and even though it does have some great specimen trees and nice gardens, it's all about the greenhouses for me. There are plenty of gardens around which are well known for seasonal interest but Kew is all about the fantastic tropicals under glass.

I went in the spring when there large areas of crocus all in flower, helps if it is sunny, also all the camellias were out.

I went mid/late feb when the crocus carpets were in full flower. stunning and then the greenhouses were also spectacular.
when ever you go you will enjoy it.

They have a good display of azaleas in late spring and some nice philadelphus. Whenever you go you'll have just missed something! Send a PM to Bamboo, she knows lots about it. It depends what sort of thing you're interested in as well. As Seaburngirl says, you'll enjoy it whenever you go.

April/ May best for the Alpine House if it is open to the public. The plants are all on waist high displays, wonderful.

Best to ring the information dept. before travelling, be a shame to miss it if still under construction.

Also walk on down the path on the left side, to the
Marianne North Gallery. What an interesting lady she was.
I bought every card on sale, keep them in two albums to enjoy. Photos are also on IT site.

The Orchids are a dream in the Princess of Wales Conservatory .

I understand there is one of every tree in the world there,
dont know if this is correct.
Have a nice day.

Don't forget to go on the 'sky' walk, up into the trees, not sure if that is only open at certain times though. Enjoy.
